1st day of summer class...Its one of my fav subjects - Tourism. And it went all pretty well except for one cock up. We had to get into groups (fixed by random) and select the topic we wanted. My grp mates and I tot that we have a strong case to fight for the topic (2 out of 3 teams will get it and our topic was the only one that wasto be fought for). We presented our reasons and then had to make a one min 'sales pitch'. I tot we were pretty confident that we will do a good job but the class din vote for us. In fact the number of hands raised in favour for us was like countable within one hand. I was sad...
Wad may be the reasons? Of which I attributed mainly to me (i was leader) :
- I had a reputation to be disliked at first meeting. I looked proud and fierce and not approable at all.
- I was the only idiot that used a lappie for a one min sales pitch. I knew wad i wanted to say just that in case i forgot. So maybe ppl hated me for making them wait...
- I was the onli ger presenter and damn serve me right for wearing a V-neck top in class full of gers
- Me sounding too cocky perhaps??
- And the last reason my frd gave was, we had alot of contacts and experience in that topic we are fighting for. Thus the class felt threatened since the top grp project get to win a 3D trip to Bali.
What are the reasons i dunno? But i fiercely believe its cuz of the arrogant looking me. I feel so guilty and sad that we lost the case. We knew we could do it. But then we got another topic which was also good on UK. In a way all the other topics had 2 grps presenting, so its more of a tough fight. For us? We are the onli Uk presenting grp, so lesser 'shooting' in Q&A. Blessing in disguise.
This course cost $800 and no matter what I must Do it well!!!! Pia for 5 weeks!
Another happier tot tho was today i finally go buy my OP flipflop.
Its love at first sight. Dark brown and gold/bronzey prints. And i paid $3 cash and the rest by vouchers. Happy happy happy.
